It begins with a flash of blinding light.

No matter what they’re doing, the light is so stunning that they pause to shield their eyes. Logically, it seems like such a bright light would hurt their eyes, and yet somehow, it’s not painful at all. It’s strange, but stranger still, a moment later, the ground underneath them is gone. They’re falling, and it feels like they’re falling for a long time as their eyes adjust after that light.

Yet, it’s not long at all—they’re only falling five feet or so. But as they, and others, appear in the air, there’s a shriek of alarm.

“Beryl—Go!!”

A man’s voice shouts after the scream, and as their eyes adjust, they’ll see two blurry figures, the woman running away while the man briefly stands his ground with a dagger raised before he takes advantage of the confusion to flee as well and cover her. You, and all of the other disoriented strangers, have been left alone. There might be a few bruises from the fall, but otherwise, there are no new injuries. It’s a strange lobby, but nothing about it seems helpful to reveal where you are. Following the two figures is fruitless too, since the door at the end of that hallway is sealed shut with magic—no one will be able to pass through.

So, just where are you?

[ He didn't turn her away? And they come from similar backgrounds? This is a miracle. Maybe she can finally make more friends in this place... After discovering that he was also a noble, she replies with more confidence. ]

I too thought the same! The training I received at the palace is not enough to help us reach the top of Dyspros Castle, I believe. That, and... it seems that there are some forces at work that will not let me use my full strength.

Your full strength? [ Chrom looks to contemplate that, considering his own skills in comparison to what he's able now. It's not much different.. his skills are something he worked his body to back home. It's not like magic- he knows that does not work as it did with Robin. ] I've certainly faced many, but I agree with what it takes to reach the top.

[ Why would that be? Unless.. ] Maybe it has to do with the world here?

Or the castle. I haven't ventured any further than the first level beyond the door, but it is similar to something from my world. I hope to find the answer there.

[dualstrike]

Similar to something from your world? What do you mean? [ but if it definitely was the castle, the major's words about it could make sense of that. ]

There are places in my world called dungeons... They are different from the dungeons you find in castles. They are usually huge, beautiful structures with a portal as their only entrance. There, one will face many trials as they make their way to the djinn inside and prove their worth to it. The ornate door in the castle had the feeling of a dungeon to me. And the rumors say something about a god at the top, don't they?

[ It's all too familiar to her. But there's still one thing she doesn't understand... ]

[ The young lord listens intently, of course no such thing exists in his own realm. certainly there were enemies like Risen, but never any dungeon to explore needing to prove their worth. outrealms were something- different worlds to enter and prepare for whatever was on the other side.

but nothing related to what she said. ] I did hear talk of that, some say that the god may be able to grant a wish.

[ of course he knows what everyone was thinking: the wish to go back home. ]

[peachbaths]

[ It's something unspoken among them now. ]

I have never heard of a djinn that could grant wishes, but if we can wish for anything from this god, I wonder if one wish to bring everyone back to their own worlds will do the trick.

[ She is not only thinking of herself, but others. What if they can't reach the top before she can? The only people who were truly nice to her so far were those from other worlds, like she was. This is the least she can do, even if she never talks to them again. ]

[dualstrike]

[ Well Chrom here definitely approves of her thinking, it crosses with his own to be putting people in thought than rather only himself, but if that were the case.. ] It's at least something worth trying. Better to do that than leave the chance alone.

If Naga is able to grant incredible power enough to change fate, I do not see why a god of here cannot do the same. [ It's definitely something he will have to aim for. ]

I thought fate was in the hands of the rukh. [ She's just experiencing mild culture shock. ] We truly are from different worlds...

[dualstrike]

[ She can see the puzzlement at the word "rukh." It definitely doesn't get any recognition from him. ] Yes, I believe so. I may not have believed it much myself, that is if I hadn't encountered plenty of cases involving different worlds by now.

[peachbaths]

[ Her turn to raise an eyebrow. ] You have traveled to different worlds before? How?

[dualstrike]

Well.. it's a bit hard to explain, but there's this gateway called the Outrealm. It's a gate of sorts that lead to different kind of worlds, most very similar to our own, but different in certain aspects.

[ brief laugh ] Sometimes I hardly understand it myself, but it's true and it does exist.
